Project outputs:

• The legal and normative framework, financial coverage schemes and treatment protocols for telemedicine services developed based on existing best practices;
• Telemedicine pilot, involving the provision of software, strengthening of the hardware base, staff training, and public awareness-raising and communication, implemented in Chisinau Municipality;
• Roadmap for scaling up elaborated, pilot results widely communicated and public awareness on the access to telemedicine strengthened;
• Methodological guidance on telemedicine, including standards of service and guidance on psychological aspects, for health staff, developed.

Project outputs:

The intervention aims to support authorities to offer an effective response to the management of medical waste in Moldova, including potentially infectious one, during and immediately after the COVD-19 outbreak.

• Households with COVID-19 positive members or those in self-isolation dispose of their waste responsibly and safely, while the general population is aware of the responsible behavior in terms of waste disposal during the public health crisis.
• Medical waste management practices and facilities in health care institutions in the most COVID-19 affected areas are rapidly assessed and capacitated to accommodate the newly- generated waste, as well as prepare the system for events of similar nature in the future.
• Public utilities for waste management are capable to effectively and safely provide waste services in the public health crisis.

In the long term, it aims to develop a:

• National action plan on waste management resulting from the medical activity, which will also include regional plans.
• An integrated national and regional system for medical waste management.
• Public-private partnerships in order to involve specialized companies in the implementation of the integrated national medical waste management system.

• At least 150 outreach workers and social workers in NGOs provide communitarian prevention services in a safe way;
• At least 35,000 beneficiaries, including people who use drugs, sex workers, men who have sex with men, and people living with HIV, receive communitarian prevention services safely.

• Providing travel hygiene kits to 50000 travelers and migrants at PoEs, that would include IEC materials on COVID-19, masks, hand sanitizer, disposable gloves and disinfectant wipes;
• Increase COVID-19 awareness of travelers and migrants by providing ITC equipment at the most transited 10 PoEs that will display key messages on preventive measures
